It can sometimes be a challenge to come up with interesting experiences for a troop. While we promote that the girls in the troop collectively decide on troop priorities and activities, some times they need suggestions to get the conversation started. Here are a few places that have activities aimed at experiences for Girl Scouts.
Discover authentic and relevant STEM experiences in our free program aimed at girls ages 7-14. All participants are welcome! Interact with community mentors actively working in STEM-related fields by completing a variety of fun and unique activities.
Bring your troop for an hour of stellar fun and work on the Space Science badge. Tour the historic telescopes, complete badge requirements in a hands-on presentation, and (weather permitting!) look through the country's oldest telescope to view the night sky. Plus, every scout earns a special Cincinnati Observatory badge! Available weekday evenings (Oct–Mar).
Clermont County Parks regularly hosts events geared toward getting people out of their homes and learning about the natural world around us. You can go to their events page to see what is coming up or visit one of their many parks and natural areas. In addition to free public events, troops can schedule a naturalist program for a more hands-on experience with nature.
Cincinnati Nature Center helps Girl Scouts meet their nature and outdoor badge requirements. They offer naturalist-led programs where individual Scouts can register, or where entire groups can register together. Girl Scouts can learn about wilderness survival, animal homes, bugs, and more when they sign up to participate in one of these programs. Visit the Cincinnati Nature Center website for more details and to register.
